From childhood itself Joseph was indulged in social activities. He was ardent in selflessly contributing in welfare of the society, beginning from being a part of the Jai Hind Arts and Sports Club in his hometown. He was born and bought up in Pattanamthitta District of Kerala, Southern India. Whether it was building a waiting shed for the people or it be planting trees as a part of Environmental Day, He always made sure his presence and support in the upbringing of the society. He was also a member of the Sashtra Sahitya Parishad that was a strong comrade of environmental protection. This spirit in helping an developing the society stayed in him as he grew and travelled across different cultures professionally, he also gathered experiences and knowledge over these decades and has been keenly utilizing it for the welfare of the society. He has been guiding, volunteering and has been an active supporter of various socio-cultural organizations. He didn’t limit his service to just this, he has continued to contribute in education, journalism as well.
