From childhood itself Joseph was indulged in social activities. He was ardent in selflessly contributing to the welfare of the society, beginning from being a part of the Jai Hind Arts and Sports Club in his hometown. He was born and brought up in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala, Southern India. Whether it was building a waiting shed for the people or planting trees as a part of Environmental Day, He always made sure of his presence and support in the upbringing of the society. He was also a member of the Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad that was a strong comrade of environmental protection. This spirit in helping and developing the society stayed in him as he grew and travelled across different cultures professionally. He also gathered experiences and knowledge over these decades and has been keenly utilising it for the welfare of the society. He has been guiding, volunteering and has been an active supporter of various socio-cultural organisations. He didn’t limit his service to just this, he has continued to contribute in education, journalism as well. Education: Professional History: Joseph has shown his passion and dedication as a corrosion professional in different major projects of Saudi Aramco like in Juaimah tank farm, Uthmaniya gas plant, Ras Tanura Refinery, Safaniyah, and Yanbu IPSA. Further, he has executed various projects in UAE like Burj Khalifa, Taweelah B Power Plant, Ruwais G.U.P, Dubai Ports, Dubai Airports, Abudhabi Ports Abudhabi Airports. In North America, he is taking care of design, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and evaluation of the various Cathodic Protection systems for multiple clients as a C.P Specialist. He is also a member of the Alberta Society of the Engineering Technologist (ASET) and Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA). Since 2000, he has been a member of National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and a member of Project Management Institute since 2016. Joseph is also a founding member of the Canadian Freelance Guild and CWA Canada, the Member Union. Determined to set his foot in real estate, he became a member of the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) & became Certified Real Estate Associate. Volunteering Activities: Never settling, Joseph has set out to help in various social and cultural activities. He has been promoting cultural and literary activities through organisations like ‘Kavyasandhya’ and ‘NAMMAL- North American Media-centre for Malayalam Arts and Literature’. Being one of the founders and organisers of these franchises has been a platform to many talents. Along with ‘NAMMAL’ platform he has been conducting Malayalam classes through an online learning programme-Nammalude Pallikudam, in association with Malayalam Mission by the Government of Kerala. Initiating, Kavyasandhya in 2010 and NAMMAL in 2018, Joseph’s interest in cultural activities in North America began way before when he was the President of Malayalee Cultural Association Calgary in 2009-2010. Having an interest in journalism eventually led him to work with this platform and paved the way to be the Director Board Member of Indo American Press Club and he has also been volunteering for the Global Reporter section of the Reporter TV Channel. Presently, he is the Secretary at the NACE/AMPP Calgary Chapter. JOSEPH JOHN, C.E.T. Joseph completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Kerala Technical Education Board. Later, he attained a Class V Power Engineer’s Certificate from ABSA. As his field experience widened, he went ahead and achieved Certifications in: •Cathodic Protection Specialist •Cathodic Protection Technologist •Corrosion Technologist •Coatings in Conjunction with Cathodic Protection •Coating Inspector Level-1&2, from NACE/AMPP.
